Finding Honor in Photography

N&N Photography was recently hired to photograph a child’s first birthday party. A three hour event. They asked for a video of the cake cutting and cake smashing. And photos of the families as they came in and candid photos of the event in full swing. We show up and it is a Beautiful Indian Family with a sweet beautiful one year old boy. The birthday boy. A huge rented hotel ballroom with a dance floor, a clown face painting and making balloon animals, a DJ playing Indian dance music, decorated photo backdrops and props. Women all dressed in their gorgeous colorful Saris and the men dressed all in suits and dress shoes. Formal dress. 75 to 100 of them. Family? yes. Friends? yes. We took it all in and got our needed equipment and lenses out and ready and made our way around the crowd. Into the last hour of the 3 hours we spent with this family, I personally began to feel an honor within me of being a part of this event and taking the photographs of this family and their family and friends. I was also proud to be able to witness this culture, traditions, dances, and dress. It was Amazing and I loved it! Thank you for the opportunity to learn and grow and be a part of  your special event!sari-72071_1280
